In the drawings, you can sense the artist’s obsession with threatening motifs. The way countless overlapping lines transform into animals reinforces the illusionistic movement of the paintings, which pulls the two-dimensional into the three-dimensional. The instantaneous impression of the subject is one of tension, but when you get closer, you will be surprised at the surprisingly lightness of the lines that make up the animal. Also, the closer you get, the more they change from animal figures to mere lines. This allows us to feel the difference between the far and near view, which leads us to the image of paintings since Velázquez.
